Training provides profitable new ways to work with land
The Gym delivers quality Holistic Management training programs - and then backs it up with ongoing support. We prefer to work with small groups of local and regional communities who invite us into their district. We do not choose a town and simply announce a training course - we wait until we are invited.
A key aspect of our training is time 'in the paddock' with groups. The photo below shows a group of people visiting a successful farmer in central NSW in December 2005, where they observed major changes in vegetation and enterprise mix. The farmer in question continues to report profitable trading despite raging drought conditions.
In Australia much of the training occurring in the agricultural sector is subsidised by various authorities, and we are 'approved' by these authorities to deliver subsidised training in most locations.
Why you will be interested in this training Firstly, families managing holistically report greater family harmony, and greatly increased profitability. They tell us this is brought about by major cuts in cost of production, and usually, by better productivity as soil health begins to improve.
Managing holistically delivers an easy to understand, commonsense approach to the management of complex situations such as an agricultural business, where it is critical that people simultaneously consider the complex relationships between themselves, as well as the financial and ecological outcomes of their decisions.
Short Introduction to Holistic Management with a focus on grazing management and weed suppression. Revised dates - April 4 and 5, 2009
David Newell, a local Landcare Coordinator on the Far South Coast of NSW is organising this program. The primary focus will be addressing specific environmental and management problems encountered in the local region.
