Using the sheets After you download the file - it is called holistic-graze-plan-calculation-aide.xls - you should Open it and then Save it to an appropriate place, using the Save As... command: You might like to rename it something like Grazing Plan Original, and Save the Worksheet in a Folder you create called "Graze Plans Folder". When you are doing multiple plans, make sure you use the Save As... command to give each set of calculations its own name, so you can go back to it at any time. For example you might use words like: Long Flat Cell Open Plan 200X, Chelsea Farm Cell Closed Plan 200X-Y, and so on. To make data entry easy the pages in the Excel Workbook are protected. If you have not yet done this step, each page of the file also has a button located at the top of it with a link where you can download the relevant notes. To do this from within a Worksheet, whilst on-line and on one of the pages, click on its link and a pdf instruction file for that page will be downloaded for you to Save and to Print. The Closed Plan Worksheet [it is called 'Non-growth Feed Square Assessment' on its tab at the bottom] is linked to the 'Stocking Rate Adjustment' worksheet, to make it easy to calculate your feed demand and supply. Follow the steps.

When considering Stock Density as part of Holistic Planning, it is sometimes difficult to assess the area of land the mob needs to be standing on at any one time, so that you achieve the desired treatment on the land. The PDF file assists. It is in two parts: Firstly, it aids in calculating the mass of the mob. Secondly, it shows the area (in hectares) that the animals are required to be on at any one time, in order to achieve the desired intensity of treatment.
